We've had the previous version of this Inteli-Touch control for a Casablanca fan over our bed since 1986.Two controls actually, one on each side of the bed.

We use that fan every night during the warm months, and use the fan's integral lamps every day of the of the year, either once or twice per day.We've probably used the Inteli Touch control 10,000 times over its 23-year life.It has never failed to work as designed.This particular fan has a 14/2 [with ground] cable going to it, so the only way to remotely control light dimming AND fan speed is with an electronic control.In my experience, most builders/electricians wire ceiling fan boxes with 14/2 cable because it's less expensive than running 14/3.14/3 (two hots and the neutral) would allow a separate on-off wall switch for the fan and light.

The only problem we ever had with the Inteli touch setup was once, when a lightning surge caused the fan to suddenly come on at maximum speed.After that, I installed a separate off/on toggle switch on the fan base, where power comes into the fan.We turn that switch off when we go on vacation, and leave it on the rest of the time.

The W32 control works ONLY with Casablanca fans that were factory-equipped with the Inteli Touch feature.

From my experience, the Inteli-Touch is a 5-star product.

(More customer reviews)This is an excellent ceiling fan.It runs very quietly, and is easily controlled by the included remote control. I was particularly impressed by the installation. I was mounting this on a sloped ceiling, and fan comes with everything needed to do that, although I did order an extension rod (it comes with a 6-inch extension) to lower it somewhat.You do have to be sure that you have a solid mounting for this heavy fan.Fortunately, the electrical box that I was mounting to was already configured for a ceiling fan.At the ceiling, the mounting cover is in two pieces split about 3/4.You attach the larger piece, then when you're ready for the electrical connections, you lift the fan in place (have some help available - it's heavy!) and place the ball end of the extension rod into the mount.It holds it securely, and allows you to move the fan around as necessary.When you're done, you simply screw the last piece of the mount cover in place.

The actual assembly of the fan and blases was very smooth also.

(More customer reviews)Just installed this fan...what a nightmare!I can't believe how poor some of the features are designed given the price tag. I made up some never before heard cuss words when trying to install the hatch screw.It is the equivalent of trying to thread a needle without being able to see the needle.There is no way to align this square shaped fan so the edges run parallel to the edges of your room once you have it installed.I even called their tech service department but they were no help at all.Also, there is no way to wire this thing sothe light and the fan can be operated by separate switches.This thing sux!!!!

(More customer reviews)I was shopping for a new fan when I noticed this model.It looked just like the dead fan hanging in my great room so I checked - and it is a Casablanca as well.I got less than two years of light use out of mine before it died.When I read that another reviewer had the same problem, I felt compelled to share my experience.Don't let the good looks fool you - these fans are beautiful, but junk.This time I want one that spins.;)

(More customer reviews)Love the design of this fan.Very quiet and lots of extras included in the product.Only drawback is that it provides very little light.If you are looking for a fan that provides high strength lighting this may not be the fan for you.The wattage of the light bulbs suggested is limited.I will need another type of light in the room where it is installed.If that is not a concern I would highly recommend this fan.Love the security feature it provides.
